I've tweaked the AGC settings for digital ( Res time 0 --> -7, Ref gain 0 --> +3 ) and analog (Res time 0 --> -3, Ref gain 0 --> -2, Gn range 6 --> +11) on my 396s & 996s. I note a bit of improvement on Balt City 800 & a DRAMATIC improvement w/ Harford 800. Have never seen a bit of change on Balt Co 800 or Carroll Co 800 after the adjustment (not that gain control ever seemed to be an issue w/ monitoring those analog systems).
The above settings were suggested by people monitoring systems in multiple other areas of the country (see Uniden forum). Has anyone found a cluster of settings that seems to be a better overall compromise for monitoring PS systems specifically in the Balt metro area?
