I have a question about the battery save feature: how exactly, does it "conserve" battery power? It seems that in order to get more life out of the battery, you'd have to give something up. Now I know that this feature only takes affect when the scanner is idle, but what's the cost? Reduced sensitivity? Slower scanning speed? Less time on control channels? Dimmer lights/contrast?

This is just my own curiousity at work here. Inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks,

Steve

It only takes affect when the scanner is holding on a single conventional frequency or channel. The tradeoff is that you might miss a fraction of the first transmission.

I was REALLY intersted in setting it to BATT SAVE until I read that it doens't take effect w/ trunking.
My BC246T batts drain fast. But, for me, it's a "choose your problem" situation....
two AA = smaller scanner compared to my Pro-97 x4 batteries and a larger scanner.
