396 Locked Up

I has been kind of quiet today to begin with, but then I was thinking things got real quite. I looked and the scanner was locked up. I took several attempts to get it to turn off, it made the beeping like it was turning off and on but nothing. I was just getting ready to yank the batteries, then it shut down. I turned it back on and so far so good. Is this a common thing? This is the 1st time it has done this since I got it a week and a day ago. It has been on quite a bit since I got it and has had many program changes.

Got any ideas?

I never had that problem.
But if it happens again return it since you got it a week ago
