I am ready to buy a new scanner with digital capabilities. I am leaning toward the 396 but haven't completely made up my mind. The 396 claims to have more audio output and faster scan rate but I have not been able to find the specs for sensitivity and selectivity. Has anyone seen the figures for these two models? I have heard the 396 has some sensitivity problems. I have owned many scanners over the years and have always been satisfied with Uniden (Bearcat in the old days) but I don't want to spend a lot of money on something that doesn't meet my expectations. Any opinions?

Thanks

My first scanner was an Electra Bearcat III with lo and hi VHF cards.

Maybe there could just be a sticky that goes over the differences between the latest Uniden and GRE scanners. This topic comes up once a week.
