396 update problem

ive been trying to update this thing for over an hour now and it wont work. i get all the way to the end of the update and see this message. "Checksum Failed Please try updating the firmware at a lower baudrate" i did it at a lower rate and still the same message. now the problem is i cant use my scanner at all when i turn it on i get this message. "Registration key required. Resend update with key". i just updated the 996 without any problems and done the past updates for the 996 and 396 without problems what am i missing here? Please help me

i no longer need any help i got the new firmware installed and the scanner is now working.
