396 XT Pre-programming List Error

Friend just bought a 396 xt. It had no preprogrammed systems in it like mine did. When you turn the unit on, I get the error message Pre-programming list error. I have programmed the scanner and it works fine. Any idea how to make this go away?

Check the manual and do a hard reset, that should restore original programing

Preloaded Systems and their System Quick Keys

Press and hold 2,9, and Hold, power on the scanner to re-initialize the Memory and restore the Preloaded systems. When it asks do you wish to restore the preloaded systems press the E/Yes key. WARNING This will erase any personal programming you may have done to your DMA.
