I am trying to help a friend with his BCD396T. The audio on analog signals (both AM and FM) is so low that it can barely be heard inches away from the speaker or thru headphones/earphones. P25 audio and radio beeps however are just fine.
He tried a complete radio reset and the firmware was updated a few months ago so should be relatively current (He is double checking that however). He also toggled the analog AGC on and off.
The radio worked just fine until a few days ago, nothing that we can recall seemed to have been changed on the radio that may have precipitated this.
With the P25 and radio beeps working correctly I presume the audio amp and speaker etc. are OK. I assume there is a separate audio section for analog and digital signals before the audio amp, so I wonder if it can be something there.
We looked thru the menus and configuration and can't seem to see anything amiss.
Any suggestions?
