396T audio & sensitivity

I just got my new 396t. The audio and sensitivity using the rubber antenna is horrible. My 246t out performs it hands down on all bands. Am I doing something wrong? The digital audio stinks!! Any ideas what to do????

What are your digital audio parameters set at ?

(Don't want to sound like an old nag , but . . .) Have you modified the settings ?

I tried it at 8, 5 and 3. Now trying at 4. Its horrible. The analog stinks also.
