396t can't get tv channel

I can't program my 396t to get the channel 29 tv audio frequency 565.75 in my area
(phila. Pa. area) I can't program it on my 246t either. I know both scanners are not
desighed to recieve that frequency, but my pro-95 can recieve it with no problem using
Don Starr's win95 software. I tried programming it on my 246t using the arc246 demo
software but it would not work. What makes the pro-95 so special ? The 246t and 396t
are superior in many ways to the pro-95. I did not try using any software in programming
my 396t. Is there any way I can get my 246t and/or 396t to accept the 565.75 frequency ?

Nope. But, the BR330T will tune to that frequency (will actually tune to all frequencies from 100 kHz to 1.3 GHz, excluding only cellular).

Upman, why didn't you give the 330 SSB capability. Most of what I and most people I know want to hear below 30 MHz only use SSB. This would have made it the first scanner/receiver combo.

Hi Gill,

Actually, AOR came out with some scanners a few years ago which included SSB along with conventional scanning from 100 kHz to 1.3 GHz. I have an AR8000 handheld which scans conventional frequencies but doesn't trunktrack or do digital. But I can use it to listen to shortwave, SSB as well as milair, AM, FM and TV Broadcast. It's an earlier model from the UK with continuous coverage (no blocked ranges). It was replaced by the AR8200 series.

Take a look at the AOR Scanner forum and www.aorusa.com.

For portability, though, the BC330T looks good, although there's no SSB...

I own an AOR 8200 MK3 among many others. The AOR units are all communication receivers. This means they will not trunk track, only do conventional. I just wondered why Uniden put in HF coverage but no SSB mode in the BC330.
