396t firmware update

I tried updating the firmware for my 396 I got one update done successfully but I been having some difficulties updating the latest versions 2. and 3. versions. I got an error message with the second version stating rewriting is impossible please turn off the power and remove cable. I just tried plugging the power cord back into the scanner and my backlight just keeps blinking. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there is an easy way updating the firmware for this scanner.

What it boils down too is that you will have to do it again, re-apply the firmware following STEP by STEP the instructions.
This is a common thing and has been talked about on the forum many times and the solution seems to always be the same, re-apply the firmware.

Wow I guess I am an idiot....
I guess the backlight will blink if you plug the power in while holding the wrong buttons
And would help if I extracted the zip file to the right place!
