396T: For Those Who Want To Revert Back to V2 Firmware....

I've have many problems with V3 firmware for the 396T, I've had to downgrade to the previous stable version V2.00.07.

If you don't have V2.00.07 firmware, get it here: http://rapidshare.com/files/150699512/BCD396T_V2_00_07.ZIP

Unzip the firmware file and put it in the uniden | BC-VUP folder

Using BC_VUP version 2.0.0.3 browse to V2 firmware (V2_00_07.scn)

Follow the onscreen directions (it will say Registration Key Needed When Making Major version Change)

Check the "Enable Major Version Up" option and leave the "Input Registration Key" field blank. No Input Registration Key is needed when downgrading to V2.00.07. Flash scanner.

Wait 20 mins, DONE!

I tried to use this, but it won't allow it - it says 'time limit expired'. I can't find my backup of the v2 firmware, unfortunately. It hasn't been posted in the 396 Yahoo group yet. Blast!

Mike, where does it say time limit expired? When your using BC_VUP?

Sounds like the download or browser timed out. I would try again.
Otherwise I believe I have a copy on my computer.

Just tried myself. The issue is the RapidShare "free vs. premium" user deal..
You have to wait for some amount of time to get to download from the site.
Any chance you can email me the file or maybe place in the Yahoo Groups 396 file area?

It's now out in the files section of the 396 Yahoo group. Thanx to the fellow that uploaded it! That will be a big help for those who find this new firmware doesn't work too well
