I set the squelch to level 2, thinking that might help. As this problem doesn't occur at the beginning of each transmission, I'll have to do some troubleshooting. Hopefully, a Uniden representative can be informed about this issue.
Also, does a Master Reset revert the scanner's firmware version?

Squelch doesn't have any function on this radio on a digital signal.... only for conventional.
Has anybody tried:
a) reset the P25 decoding threshold to DEFAULT.
b) reset the P25 decoding to MANUAL and manually attempt to get a better signal.
c) reset the P25 decoding to AUTO and note the threshold level where it starts at and when it ends up when the signal is finally decoded. Is it changing?
d) Func-scroll to change the starting threshold to what it finally decoded on in (c) above.
Also: Does this happen on P25 audio on a P16 system, or just on P25 systems?

There is one place for FIRMWARE (as opposed to system/channel programming) in the radio. When you load new firmware, you overwrite that. A hard reset at that point will just get you the new firmware. But you will get an offer to reload the preprogrammed systems. That might be what's confusing.
