It loks like when you're monitoring an EDACS patch, you no longer have to listen to all the 15-157 type of talk groups. You can simply listen to any of the original ID's involved in the patch and the scanner will track it. Very nice!
Motorola patches still seem to work the old way though, where you have to listen to one of the talk groups involved and there's no way to know which one to tune to without just scanning them all.
Exactly how do Motorola patches work? How does the scanner decide which talk group is the one you have to listen to hear the patch?
