396T programming

Could someone tell me the step by step process for programming the new marcs ip P25 700mhz into this scanner.I have tried, but have had no luck so far.I have version 3.02.02

Hmm. I had thought the 396T wouldn't handle 700 mhz trunking, but if I'm wrong, I'd be happy about that. I have a relative who monitors the older version of MARCS with a 396T.

Did you have to set up custom tables ? I cannot even monitor Original MARCS with my 396t .....Please advise if you get this working.

Yes I can hear the new 700 mghz freqs on it! But the reception in my opinion is not as good as the 800 mghz,I get a lot of missed words and broken sentences.

No I did not have to set up custom tables for it! I had to when I first heard about them rebanding, but not for this.I don't understand how you cannot hear original marcs,do you have the latest version updated?

Setup the original MARCS system as MOT type 2 and all should work fine.It is not s true P-25 system if i thinking right.I could very well be wrong but give that a try.Will check my scanners when I get home.

That is correct to hear original marcs you enter mot type 2, but to hear the IP 700 mghz you have to enter P25.Actually I just looked on my 396T and it don't have the mot type 2,it has standard,custom and splitter for 800 mghz.So I would assume its the standard 800
