396xt Analog & Digital AGC

I'm using FreeScan to program my 396xt. I notice there is an option to enable analog and digital AGC. Does anybody notice if this makes a difference? It doesn't seem to make any difference for me when using digital trunks.

I use this feature and it works just like it is supposed to. There is a local EMS station that tones out at an ungodly volume. I bumped them down a notch and now when there tones go off I don't have all the neighborhood dogs running.
