Hi Guys:

I just moved into a new place. When I plug my BC396xt into the wall electrical outlet, every 2 mins or so the scanner gets some sorta interference.

Any sorta filter I can buy to help eliminate whatever the scanner is picking-up? I've already tried a surge protector.

Thanks.

I had the plug in upside down in the outlet because of other plug. When I switched them (put the scanner plug right-side up into the lower outlet) the problem seemed to resolve itself. Don't ask me why!

Dreamflight:

Possibly your furnace's (or AC) controls, oil burner start, coal handler motor, etc. Swapping an unpolarized plug like you did often puts a "more grounded" side of the AC feed onto the better side of the outlet. ("More grounded" is an utterly simplified explanation.)

IAC, that can often suppress some interference that may be coming through the power line, or generated by the adapter or the radio. Cheap repair, anyway :D....

Regards,
