Can anyone tell me what the difference between NFM and FM is. This relates to programing for a Mot P25 system here in Minneapolis/St. Paul. No luck in the manual.

The files that I have downloaded have a default setting of NFM with the FreeSCAN software.

Hope this makes sense, I've only had this thing for a few days.

Thanks,

Jon

If this is a P25 voice only system with no FM Voice at all then it does not matter what the mode is. It will detect the P25 and decode it. If this is 800 MHz TRS with FM voice FM is the preferred setting. NFM will be more usueful for the upcoming narrow banding of FM in the 155 MHz range.
