396xt scanner milwaukee

Hi everyone. I have a 396xt as u all know. Why doesnt it receive the Milwaukee OASIS trunking system? I have all control channels in and talkgroups/sites enabled. I have tried id scan and id search with no luck. Also have tried to hold on milwaukee fire dispatch and it says finding control channel. Nothing. Am i too far away. Im in Racine city about 38 miles away. But it receives it fine on my unication g5. Help ease. Tia

That appears to be a simulcast system and the 396 series is not designed to work well on those.

It could also be that you are in fact too far away, but since the Uni gets them the issue is likely simulcast interference..

You can try to isolate a single site which will allow reception. Even moving the scanner an inch or two could make a difference.

Of course this is easier using direction antennas vs a duck.
