I've noticed something that might need some attention. Whether it's my attention or Uniden's depends upon what you folks have to offer.

I have the frequency of 154.7100 MHz programmed in a channel. That channel receives something I know is transmitted on 154.7400 MHz, or 0.03 MHz off. Also another channel is programmed 154.8300 and it receives 154.8600, another 0.03 MHz difference.

I'm sure that if I wanted to keep that from happening, I could turn the attenuator on for these channels. But that seems like sticking a penny behind the blown fuse. My 396T and 996T do not do this nor do my 796, 8500 or 780. (Upman, your retirement fund is probably well thanks to me.).

I just did a quick and dirty test and I would say that my 396T is the same as my XT. Both of them detected the .720 signal and would not detect a .725 signal. This was a heavy RF test.

Are the modulation and step settings the same as the other scanners? If the channels are set for the default of NFM and a 5 kHz step, you should not be receiving a station 30 kHz away. In that event, I'd have to wonder if there is something wrong with that specific radio.

I'd like to know the actual specs of the passband filter - and I can't seem to find them for any Uniden unless I'm blind. :)

For instance I like to listen to general aviation and am wondering if Uniden is using a pretty common front end for AM like

+/- 15 khz @ -6dB
+/-30 khz @ -60 db

or perhaps something tighter like:

+/- 8 khz @ -6dB
+/- 30 khz @ -60dB

I don't like to play the specifications-game since specs alone can be deceiving either pro or con. However I'd actually like to know.
