How do I upload to my 396xt with the usb cable? I have the cable but the computer will not see it?

You have to download the usb driver from Uniden

Thank you for the info... This is crazy, with a piece of equipment so advanced it has a serial port connect. my desktop is five years old and it don't have a serial port. Old technology on new equipment?

I can't understand it either. Good luck with your cable. Freescan is a great program - you are gonna love it. It has a feature that will help you get the right comport and transfer (upload/download) speed selected.

This has been talked about many times before...Serial is still the largest type of connection used worldwide.

Also, the scanner requires a serial connection to properly interface with a GPS for the automatic system switching functions...
