3rd party software for Whistler TRX

Has anyone found a good program to use with the Whistler TRX-1/2 scanners?

I had a TRX-2 for a short time and I hated EZScan. I have reason to consider adding a TRX-2 to my station (for something Uniden scanners can't do other than NXDN) but I'm hoping there is a better way to program it.

No, the only programming software for the TRX2 is EZscan

And unless Whistler decides to release the programming protocols, there never will be anything else. Contrast that to Uniden, that made all its protocols for the radios pretty much public - hence the development of many different packages

I've said before that I'd love to see "Win800" become available, but I don't see it happening.

That said, I find E-Z Scan a lot easier to use than Sentinel.

...at a minimum - more flexible.

Uniden seems to assume everyone is using location based scanning (GPS, zip code, etc.).

Actually, Sentinel assumes that you are not using location based scanning when creating your own Favorites Lists (location features default to off).
