So I’ve noticed for over a year now that I get a 3X longer delay when listening to transmissions as a logged-in Premium (paying) RadioRef subscriber vs listening as a non-Premium (free) listener. Just wanted to see if anyone knew why this would be?
A little more info: I’ve run a test several times where I have any combination of either my iphone 12, my wife’s iphone 13, my laptop through wifi, and/or my wife’s desktop computer through Ethernet listening through the Radio Ref website to Southington CT Police & Fire - along with my scanner being on. Doesn’t matter if just 1 of these devices is on or all 4 of them are on. My scanner will pick up a transmission, and then about 25 seconds later the other devices (iphones and/or laptop and/or desktop) will play that transmission if listening as a non-Premium listener, which I guess is an acceptable delay. But, if I log in to any one of or all 4 of those devices as a Premium subscriber, the ones logged on as a Premium subscriber will now play the transmission heard on the scanner about 1 minute and 15 seconds later, while the ones listening as a non-Premium listener will still only have the 25 second delay. This is a delay 3 times longer for being a Premium (paid) subscriber vs being a non-Premium (free) listener. I would think being a paid Premium subscriber would result in the same amount of delay (or less) than what a non-paying listener gets. I’ll continue to be a Premium subscriber just for access to the Archives, but when I don’t have access to my scanner I log out of my RadioRef account and listen as a regular (free) listener so I don’t have such a delay.
