Property Dispute Ends In Triple Murder-Suicide Near Skiatook.
A neighborhood feud over a fence line leads to the death of four people. The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Department has identified the victims of a brutal murder-suicide in Tulsa County. Deputies say Howard Hawthorn shot and killed Anthony Graham, his stepson Joshua Lafort and Duane Goodman. Hawthorn then killed himself. Sheriff’s deputies found the bodies at a home at 3817 E. 126th Street North, just after 5 o’clock Thursday evening. Officials say Hawthorne had been involved in a property dispute with Graham. The parties were in court to settle a land dispute Thursday afternoon. Deputies say Hawthorne was upset over a fence line being moved.

anyone catch the radio traffic? Skiatook PD officers arrived on scene just as the guy turned the shotgun on himself. I just listened to the 911 recordings, very intense. I'll post more when I can.

Oklahoma sure has been violent lately, especially Tulsa. I wonder what this guy was thinking in all honesty. My dad was friends with Anthony, really sucks. God rest their souls.

I talked with the officers last night that responded, and none of us could imagine what would possess someone to gun down 3 people over a *&@*# fence.

If you're the praying sort like me, remember Anthony Graham's wife who had the courage to remain calm enough after her husband was murdered to dial 911 and Duane Goodman's father who was in the house when the horrible incident took place.

No offense, but how many of the officers that you were talking to have any college education? If they have any, they need to think back to their psychology courses. They should also have developed their own "street psych" like a lot of us have done. I can most certainly imagine what would set someone off like that. Any number of things. That doesn't make it right but I can certainly understand it.

I'm with Skrek on this one. I'm tired of hearing this boo hoo how could it have happened let's prey attitude. How could it have happened? it's called snapping! In the sickist part of one's sane mind and we all can snap. Most of us control it but some can't. I'm glad he wacked himself out! He did the family members and tax payers a favor by doing that!

Hence me saying "If you're the praying sort" All us 'uneducated' folk understand the suspect did this because he snapped, I meant we just cannot comprehend being so angry and frustrated over something so simple that you would murder 3 people like that. I disagree that we are all capable of doing what this guy did. Something was wrong with him way before the fence post incident.

Sorry to boo hoo guys, it was a family friend. I've seen alot of death and crazy things in my few years, but when it strikes home it's upsetting. I'll refrain from posting my two cents in the future if it's going to get a psycological evaluation. Thank you.

So what if people pray. Sometimes that is what keeps everyone else from snapping. You didn't say anything wrong FireMed. Don't apologize for having an opinion.

I am in no way excusing what Mr. Hawthorne did, but from what I understand is this dispute has been going on a long time and Mr. Graham was the instigator of most of the problems in the past. Just goes to show you how something so petty can snowball.
