OK, bored and using the signal stalker on the 106.......I get 408.000 with a NAC of 293. Really strong signal, mostly encrypted, some in the clear comms. This is in Cleveland, OH. Asked in the Ohio forum with a response about the 407.00/NAC 201 that I had ID'd in the post. Any idea's guys and gals?
TIA,
Larry

My first guess would be VA Medical Center Police. They use that same frequency at other VA locations and would be most likely to have switched to P-25. US Postal Service is another user, but have never seen that frequency or NAC used by the Postal Inspectors.

408.000 would be a Veteran's Hospital. Does it sound like Police/Security or Maint??
Added it to the Wiki http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/U._S._Department_of_Veterans_Affairs

As for 407.0000 that sounds like it's Federal Protective Service [aka GSA Police]

I was staring at the Federal building from the guest area on the tenth floor. Saw the 407 frequency with the NAC was for the security there. Really got a strong signal on the 408 frequency. The veterans hospital is probably 8 or so miles east of downtown Cleveland. Very limited comms in the clear, and did not catch what was being said. Mostly encrypted comms. Not in Cleveland any more. Back home in gawga. Maybe someone in the old home town can give a head's up on what they might monitor on that frequency:) Thanks for all the replies everyone.

Here, there and everywhere in WV
Fps

GSA (prior 9/11) were and DHS (post 9/11) are the Parent Agencys for FPS

FPS was under GSA, then Post 9/11 were sent under DHS along with many other agencies. Also FPS fell under DHS/ICE. But now FPS has left ICE as of Nov 2009 and is under DHS/NPPD.
