Listen to ETSB Peoria County with no problem hearing, In the last few days I have not heard 413 Chillicothe Police. I listen to traffic on ETSB, Starcom 21, and Tazcomm. Receiving solid loud signal on everyone so its not the radio/antenna. I live in Chillicothe so distance is not a problem. is anyone else hearing their traffic Thank You for your time .

Chilli PD (as well as Heights PD) are both currently using Peoria PD Prep 2 (TG 452).

They recently moved Heights and Chilli dispatch to the downtown PSAP.

Thank You so much for your reply. was not sure what was going on. was worried Chilli had gone with encryption. You said Chillicothe & Peoria Heights both moved. Any reason why? Are they the only ones.

again, BIG Thank You for the info. Have added Prep 2 to the scanners. Love this hobby

Peoria county used to have 4 PSAPs (public-safety answering point) Bartonville, Peoria (downtown), Heights and Chilli.

A change in Illinois state law will only provide funding for no more than 2 PSAPs per county. So they consolidate to just Bartonville and downtown Peoria.

Now, why a PSAP change caused them to change radio TGs, your guess is as good as mine. This multi-million dollar radio system is supposed to allow everybody to be able to talk to everybody, but that is far from the truth.

it's a pain for me listening to Chillicothe & Peoria Heights on the same talk group. Cant imagine how difficult it must be for the Officers trying to to figure out if Dispatch is talking to them or the other department. I hear them sometimes prefix calls with Chilli & Heights but have to wonder if their radios have some type of filter so not to have to listen to the olther departments traffic.......... Anyone know ?.

Nope, there's no filtering. Peoria PD only uses Prep 2 as needed, so their not on that TG unless needed. But you're right, for Heights and Chilli, they have to sit on that TG and listen for their ID.

I hate to see what will happen if both Heights and Chili have something major going on at the same time like a house fire or foot pursuit.

Same thing that happens here in Indiana where two medium sized police departments (Noblesville and Westfield) are on the same talk group. In the case of a major incident the department not involved is moved to the backup talkgroup.

here is the Illinois Quad-Cities they are in the process of consolidating centers. Milan PD has been on several TGs controlled by "ECC". Never know where they will show up. When they first showed sharing Dispatch 1 with Moline. later in the week I heard them on Silvis/Hampton TG, then they were on Dispatch 2 with East Moline (Silvis/Hampton moves here for third shift dispatching). This weekend they were back on their own TG.
