42.92 Pl 173.8

Last night around 8:45 PM I did a search in the lowband range (25-54) to see if anything was skipping. I came across 42.92 and turned CTCSS on to find a 173.8 PL tone. It sounded like police / highway patrol talk. Any idea what this was? I received it from down the street from my house in Lansdowne, PA with my Pro 97 using the Radio Shack telescoping antenna.

According to the Database here, that is licensed to North Carolina. So it probably was the North Carolina Highway Patrol you were hearing. Little summertime skip in action (I love it).
