Does anybody know what the new Midland FRS/GMRS combo handheld ("Midland GTX950VP 30 Mile Two Way Radio") is? I understand 22 channels (though maybe I don't think it was the greatest of ideas, oh well...) but where are they getting the extra channels from? Even if they made a MURS/FRS/GMRS dual band radio (and that would be sweet) that still wouldn't give you 42 channels. I'm assuming that they're extra business band frequencies. If that's the case, then the FCC must be getting ready to close shop and just let the bands go free-for-all altogether....maybe at least pirate radio might make a comeback again...
