Anyone monitoring the Salt Lake County Public Works System? A Forum Search, shows it has been a while since this system was covered here. I am having trouble listening with an SDS100. It appears the system is used by the trash collection, County Dump (excuse, me,,,,the Salt Lake Valley Solid Waste Facility), Dept Aging services transport, a recreation center, and an unknown road crew. I'm still fine tuning what I have.

Just to add an update... Same as yesterday.

I did not get a chance to plug in the SDR today, but hopefully tomorrow I can see what it shows.

TG 1200 is the Salt Lake Valley Solid Waste Facility (Dump). I think they have an alternate, but don't know yet.
TG's 1008 (Alpha), 1040 (Bravo), 1072 (recycle?), 1104, 1136, 1232, 1392, 1424, and 1968 are used for trash/garbage/recycle Collection.
TG's 816, 4016, 4048, 4080, 4112, and 4144 are used for road maint/repair.
TG's 3248 and 3312 (Charlie), are used by the Division of Ageing Services.
TG 3664 is used by someone arraigning/coordinating "treats for upstairs".
One of the County Recreation Centers is using TG 2576.
There are a few other users, but need more research (listening).
No updates to the Database at this time. Still need to clarify these, before submitting.

We had inside information that SLCO Sheriff has backup channels on 420F

Well, here is the part of the radio map
Zone 6
Backup Channels
TAC 1 Bkup 2352
Oquirry Bkup 2384
Wasatch Bkup 2448
SP SERV Bkup 2416
2nd TAC 1 BK 48368
2nd Oqur BK 48400
2nd Was BK 48464
2nd SPSR BK 48432
3rd TAC 1 BK 224
3rd Oqur BK 256
3rd Wash BK 320
3rd SPSR BK 288
854.7125
856.7125
857.7125
858.7125
859.7125

Now, except for the 3 digit TGs, all of these TGs are "odd numbered"
Odd = not evenly divisible by 32.
I noticed that all of the 420F TGs you found were odd
So it is a good possibility that these TGs from zone 6 are for 420F.

1-How old, is your radio map? 2-The number need to be divisible by 16, not 32. When the system was first started, they (the techs) spread the talk groups out so there was a blank (spacer) group between each active group. As the list fills in, they started to use the spacer groups. 3-I've had Unitrunker going on this system for a bit over a month now, and non of the SO TG's has had any activity. 4-854.7125, has not been active/used on the system, while I've been monitoring. 5-Zone 6 is used as "Fail Safe" (great movie, but no connection). Operators go there if System crashes. Which, UCA promises can never happen. ;)

I am aware that the Motorola DEC number needs to be divisible by 16.
But those of us from the 7202 Group noticed a pattern.
All of the TGs on UCAN, now UCA, were divisible by 32.
I could never understand the logic behind it.

I can't speak for here, but "back east" the programmers(?) would early on, space the talk groups out, with blank talk groups between each user. This gave the divisible by 32 appearance. But as time goes on, and more users sign on, they are having to fill in those empty spaces.

0976 = School Buses. I haven't determined who , yet.
1072 = I believe ACE Recycling
1232 = I believe Salt lake Dump, inside ops
1424 = ID'ed as ECHO Channel. Trash Pick-up.
3664 = SL Valley health Dept. Front desk and services. I haven't figured out where, yet.
Anyone have additional info? Or corrections?
