As there is only one ambulance provider in Buffalo now (AMR), there seems to be no more need for ADI.

Where do you get this from? AMR has been solo in the city for a LONG TIME! Nothing new there!

Yes, so where is my statement incorrect? ADI coordinated multiple ambulance services back in the day. It's not needed any more. If it only shut down recently, maybe it took the city a while to find positions for all of the displaced employees.

Dave, you should probably stick to commenting on topics where you could provide actual insight of what’s going on, rather than the garbage you just said. But hey, what do I know….

ADI/MERS, a NECESSARY dispatch center, which dispatches and oversees the transfer and handling of EMS calls to a private, for profit company. ADI/MERS has ZERO displaced employees and still 100% operational, as ADI is only a sliver of what that office does, who now relays calls to AMR via CAD link, rather than over the air.

I suppose the knowledgable could have shared the details sooner, rather than waiting to snipe.

Am I reading it correctly that I would have to have DMR upgrade to pick up the AMR dispatches on my 436HP?

Along those same lines, I’m thinking UB and Amherst PD also require DMR for the Saianet system. Do I have that all correct?

Yes, you'd need to have the DMR enabled on your 436 for you to be able to monitor SaiaNet, which AMR operates on

UB operates on SaiaNet, and you can monitor Amherst PD on SaiaNet; however, they don't natively operate on SaiaNet. Amherst PD is on their conventional P25 channel. If everything is still set the way it was previously discussed (things could have changed), Amherst PD, as well as many of the other PD "patches" are "demand" patches, so they will only be heard when a subscriber radio is monitoring or using that TG, and on the site that subscriber is using.

OK thanks. Can you clarify if I need DMR for UB? I wasn’t sure if you were referring to just Amherst PD being native to Saianet. I know UB still has analog frequencies in the database but I’m not sure if they use them.

Yes, to monitor UB PD (assuming that's what you want), you need to have DMR enabled.
OK, thanks for the insight. I may as well just have DMR for all the other things it can receive.
