Hello,

i recently purchased beacon that transmits on pmr readio frequency "fading" signals.
The problem is that the signal is so strong, that in 50 meter radius around the beacon there is no way to block the waves with body or alum foil wrapped around the receivers antenna.

I'm planning on removing original antenna and soldering on sma connector for custom antenna.
While beacon is far away normal antenna would be on receiver and i should be able to block the waves with body.
When near the beacon I'll remove antenna and try it that way.

Question is, is there any way to create small directional antenna , directional enough to be able to use it when few km away and when in 50 meters radius.

PS: beacon is capable of sending signal strong enough to receive it on cheap pmr radio 5km away
