The voice prompts are great, expect that it voices (for example) "43 (space) 123" as "forty three thousand one hundred and twenty three", when it should just be "forty three" (pause) "one hundred and twenty three". It other words it shouldn't assume a space between numbers is a thousand delimiter :)
But maybe that's a Google process that you can't control and I'll have to change my tags. :-(

It is the Google speech engine that processes that. I looked into it further and found that when it sees numbers in the pattern you mentioned (43 123), it automatically speaks that as one number in the thousands. It has to do with the last block of numbers being grouped by three. When a space is added to break up the three numbers it reads them all individually.

I will play around with it some to see if I can modify the numbers going into the speech engine when they appear in that format - to break them up. However, it looks like it will be difficult to determine when "123" should be spoken as "one hundred and twenty three" versus "one two three".

I'd be happy with the 123 being spoken as "one two there", it was the spurious "thousand" that was annoying. Think about how an air traffic controller would say "123" — it would always be "one two three" never "one hundred and twenty three" ;:)

Hey Jeff I have a few requests.
Can we have the program able to resize.
Can we be able to change the font size.
Can we have the ability to have the screen on top.
I use your program on my laptop to view my scanner screen.
It would be nice to have the ability to put the system dept and channel on the tool bar so I can see it while using any browser
Thanks for your program.

I just installed the program and it is working great. The only problem that I am having is the remote control function isnt working. I get a connection failed. Is the server down again?

Works great with my BCD436HP except doesn't seem to read the menus correctly, maybe I'm doing something wrong. Everything else works including remotely controlling the scanner, avoiding channels, etc.

Great app! I had no trouble with connecting my 536 to the Scanner Monitor app in Chrome, that is working fine. But for some reason I cannot get the audio streaming to work.

I connected my audio cable (stereo cable) to the external speaker jack on the back of the scanner to the line-in jack on my computer (running Windows 10) (is this the correct setup?) I checked the box to allow audio streaming.

I get no audio. Should I be able to hear the audio thru my computer? Or just thru my Android phone connected to scannermonitor.com?

Thanks for any assistance.

Yes, you should be able to hear audio through the computer first. I don't have Windows 10 - but there is probably a sound setting to select line-in over microphone for the audio.

There is an audio visualizer bar in the scanner app when you select to stream audio. You can use that to help "see" if sound is coming through your computer. If the visualizer moves when you talk into the mic, then the computer is using the wrong audio input.

The Android phone will show "Currently streaming audio" if it is successfully connected to an audio stream. If no sound is being picked up from your computer though, it will only be streaming silence.

Great work Jeff, install and set up was very easy.

Audio problems for me but that is all on my end. First major echo and feed back. I realized my web cam was picking up the audio disabled that and all good.

Now I have issues getting the audio through, I am sure its in the line in setting with my on board ASUS sound card and Win 10 I will dig into it this weekend.

Anyway to allow multiple logins so my wife can listen at the same time as me?

Glad you like the app. I hope to make the audio setup easier as there have been some Chrome updates recently that may help.

As far as multiple logins to the same connection, the app is currently limited to one remote user.

Thanks,
Jeff

Did you have any luck getting the audio to work with Windows 10?

Thanks.

I had a similar issue. There is a setting in the properties for the device you are using for input that will pass the audio to your default output device. On the properties window, click the "Listen" tab and select "Listen to this device". That did it for me.

I hope this helps.

Had no problem getting the "server" app up and running on Windows 10 64bit............had no problem receiving, and controlling the scanner with audio from my Macbook. I can connect and control the scanner from my Android, but no audio. My friend can connect and control from his iPhone using FireFox, but complains of low audio.

In all forms, the menu system is not working, no way to see if you have pushed a keypad number. Also, besides scan and hold, you can't move up or down through lists......that would be useful. :)

I have been using this app at home with my 436 and love the interface. I want to use it in my truck, mobile. Does this require internet connection to work? Forgive me if this has been answered but there are a lot of replies in this post.

Glad you like the app. Yes, it currently requires an Internet connection for use on a mobile device.
