436/536 Scanner Monitor App for both Mac and Windows

Working on my HP1. For what it's worth, in Chrome you can force an update by clicking on the settings icon (the three bars), Settings, Extensions, and then "Update Extensions Now".
The app's taskbar window on Win7 is shown as "Serial Test", for what it's worth.
The app is counting every time the HP1 moves through a system while scanning as a "hit". (The system shows up in the top line of the HP1 display while the radio is scanning.)

All those "for what it's worth" statements add up to a big help.
The latest version has the log hit counter disabled for the HP1 until I see if those units send other data in the status to indicate if it received a hit or is just scanning through. The screen display should still be operational.
Return when idle
When the scanner is scanning and not on a active channel it will return the following as part of the string
'RMT' + #9 + 'STATUS' + #9 + #9 + #9
for example

New version of the app is available.
This includes addition of a keypad for controlling BCDx36HP models. Click "Show Keypad" button to launch the keypad. Otherwise, it is hidden so you can see the display and hit counter. Keypad is not currently available for HP-1 models.

A volume control button has been added to the keypad in the latest version. When clicking Volume, a modal displays where you can directly select the volume level desired. Just realized I have the volume choices going from 0 to 10 - but looks like the volume actually goes past 10. (Reminds me of a movie)
Will add the additional levels shortly.
UPDATE: The Chrome web store has the updated version available now. The volume now goes to 15.

I have spent some time at the Chrome web store and still can NOT find it. I have looked under Utilities but can not find the APP. Is there an easier way to find it like by a look up or by alpa?

It is currently only available from this link. I will open it up to be searchable by the general public once I feel it is stable enough. During the last couple weeks it has been updated several times.

I have 0.8.7 on my machine and the 436 connected to the computer as COM11. Not getting a response from the application when I try to connect.
Looking at the debug logs, the "connection" number starts with 1 and increases every time I try to make a connection. I thought in a previous version, the connection number was the same value as the COM port number. I retried this until I saw "connection 11" in the debug logs, but no luck.

The connection id in the debug output doesn't represent the com port number being used. Hasn't been any updates over the last couple versions that would have changed they way it connects.
May try closing the app and restarting if you haven't already tried that. Is it receiving any debug response text from the device? Wonder if something else may have the connection to your com port locked.

Rebooted - other programs are having the same trouble. I will diagnose my machine further. Thanks for the response.

Deskins, the Volume is working great!
Thanks for the addition.
Now all I want is a big fat Mute button so I can hush the system when the phone rings
A Mute button has been added to the latest version. It's not really "big and fat" - but can be found next to the volume button. It is a quick way to basically set the volume to zero. I may look into an Un-mute feature so that clicking the Mute button again will revert the volume back to its previous level.

Worked right after installation. I love it, I don't have to run Parallels & Windows to use with my MacBook Pro. Wish List: 1. Save all info from scanning session to a log. 2: Read and save all information including recordings from the microSD to computer.

Worked right off the bat for me; great work!
I've only come across one quirk so far, and that's if the scanner is ever disconnected, powered off, etc, then I have to completely turn off the scanner, unplug the usb cable, then turn the scanner back on, then plug the usb cable back in, before the app ever sees the scanner.

Thanks for the updates and glad it works immediately after installation.
One of the latest updates over the weekend was the addition of the Close Call and Scan buttons. Since everything seems to be stable and the positive feedback received, I have opened this app up to the general public where they can find it by searching in the Chrome Web Store.
