I recently got a Ford 2016 F150 with the sync 3 system.

I am trying to connect my 436 to the sync 3 system so the scanner audio goes through the trucks speaker system.

It requires a cord with a male AUX audio jack and male USB. I found one on Amazon but it won't work.

Has anyone done this successfully?
If so, where did you get the cord???

I did this with the older model of Ford sync, worked great. Different cord required for the older sync model. Hoping it can be done again!

I was looking around a Ford Forum and there was some comments about Sync 3 no longer having an auxiliary audio input jack.

Have you considered getting an amplified speaker and sticking it under a seat? Then just plug in the cable from the speaker to the headphone jack.

I've got a 2013 with Sync and there is a round about way I can feed the audio from my 536 to the truck radio. However when I do that, I'm giving up my music.

You can get a cheap Bluetooth transmitter and plug it into the 436. They are around $20 and plug into the earphone jack.

You can pair it with your Ford Sync that way.

The USB in my 2013 Ford Explorer only charges my 436. I can pass audio using the AUX jack.

Going to try the sound adapter first.
See picture attached.

If that doesn't work, will do the Bluetooth adapter.

Thanks!

I can almost guarantee that won't work. That's for a computer.

Being that it will work with windows and mac, I would be interested to know if it works. My wife has a 2010 escape with that Ford Sync crap. Hers has an aux and my 436 sounds good in there. If you don't have that, an fm stereo transmitter or a bluetooth transmitter should work fine.

Well, think about what your time is worth... waiting for it, getting it, trying it, returning it, etc. There's no way for it to work, your car doesn't have 'drivers' to tell it what to do with the USB device.

That's how I use to connect. It worked great with my former F150.
My new F150 with Sync 3 only has USB's to connect to from the headphone jack of the 436.

Nothing seems to work.
But will keep trying.
Probably will end up with a Bluetooth transmitter.
