436HP No Batt Power or Recognized - USB Power Is OK??

As noted in the title,

USB powers and functions perfect, All other radio functions are working
P25, ProVoice, DMR, U/VHF- AM/Airband...All great..

Screen reads No Battery, and will not power up by battery power,,,only USB..

Probably going to send it in for a fix, too bad I can get my hands on the
PCB diagram...Would love to see where the short is...

I'm sure that you've already tried a known good set of batteries.

Does it do the same (won't run off batteries) with the battery cover removed? If it does, and you put foil on the inside of the cover as per the long running 'interference' thread, any chance that the edge of the foil is grounding out a battery connection?

yeah, batts are fine & theres no correlation with the hypothesis in that thread( the copper-taped doors)
its a straight power problem..

Sounds like it. I figured you'd have already checked the obvious, but sometimes we skip a step or two.
