436HP Pro Voice issue??

So I turn the 436 on to listen to my local FD and EMS agencies. The FD is on Pro Voice while EMS is on Moto Type II with a patch for their disp channel on the Pro Voice system so fire can talk to ems. I noticed the FD audio comes thru just fine but when I go to the patched channel for EMS it shows the radio ID and PVR when someone is talking but no audio is heard. This just started today. No settings in the radio have been changed. Maybe they encrypted the EMS patch??
Would ENC or PVR display if that was the case?

ProVoice is not a system, it is a Digital FM Audio mode, used conveniently or on an analog trunking system called EDACS.

Yes ENC will flash for any ProVoice audio used with encryption.

Is the EMS Moto Type II traffic still in the clear? If so, I can't imagine why the patch to the FD freq/system would be encrypted.

I know I just get the letters mixed up when I type out EDACS so its easier to type and remember pro voice.

The original channel on the type II system is encrypted however the patch has never been encrypted somehow. I have noticed a few other things that make me believe its just a issue with the channel instead of encryption. My main thing was wanting to know if PRV and ENC would alternate on the display if indeed encryption was being used.
