Bob, The 325p2 has the 'Download From Scanner' and 'Upload To Scanner'. But the 436HP doesn't have those. I have been pouring through the manual, but I can't find how to do it on the 436.

This will explain it for you. (Hopefully)
It's a different method on the x36HP and SDSx00 scanners. Click the Favorites Editor checkbox. It's located in the main menu on the far left side. After you open or create a new favorites list, then you can read from the scanner and write to the scanner. The scanner needs to be in Mass Storage mode for the read and write operations.
Mind reading….I suspect he’s using ProScan…but I could be wrong.
Firstly in Proscan you need to change your scanner type to BCD436HP (1)
Place a check by Favorites editor (2)
Create a new favorites list then you'll see Scanner Read & Scanner Write appear here (3)
