Seeking information as to location of above noted repeater including a call sign. Is the repeater open for regular amateur use, or is it restricted to emergency use only?
I’ve had it in my scan list for months. Never heard a conversation on it, just the Morse Code ID. I think it’s on a water tank in Hawthorne.I checked my database and I don't have that one. I added it to my scan list to see if I can catch an ID.
The repeater doesn’t transmit CTCSS, so you must listen in carrier squelch mode.I checked my database and I don't have that one. I added it to my scan list to see if I can catch an ID.
The repeater was at another location many years ago. I never took it out of my scanner. I see it’s still on the air, but I believe the original owner has passed away. That’s why I’m wondering who is operating it now. Previous call sign was WA2CAI.How'd you find out about it? It isn't listed in repeaterbook either...
UPDATE: Station is currently identifying as WA2CAI via Morse Code. FCC license for WA2CAI expired in 2013, and was cancelled by FCC in 2015. License holder died in 2012.
Still seeking current location for this emitter. Previous location has been electronically and physically checked with negative results.

Unfortunately, Mark, W2MR passed away in 2018. There’s also an “abandoned” repeater currently identifying with Mark’s call sign. An unbelievable and sad coincidence of sorts. If I recall correctly, when Tom went Silent Key in February of 2012, the repeater was basically abandoned in place. It was essentially a zombie cause the family really didn't have much knowledge about it. I didn't figure it was still on the air. The person to contact would be Mark, W2MR. Him and Tom were really close and involved in it together AFAIK. His email is good on QRZ.
