453.2375 Prince Edward/Farmville

It sounds like 453.2375 w/ a DPL of 023 is either Farmville PD or Prince Edward SO or both since according to their websites Farmville dispatches everything in the county. I barely pick it up in Charlottesville...

It is definetly police activity, but I am not positive the units are calling "Farmville", "Prince Edward" or something else. Nor can I understand it enoug hto know if it is the primary or a secondary channel.

Can anyone confirm for us?

I usually have good luck picking up Farmville/PE fire dispatch from home. I'll plug in this one and see what I can find.

I just returned from there. Both Farmville PD and Prince Edward Sheriff are dispatching on 453.2375 [d023] and I hear both entities being called. 39.40 [127.3] is very quiet, but I heard a couple of units using it as a TAC channel.

There is quite a bit of stuff licensed to Farmville in Police Call, but I'm only hearing this new PESO/FPD channel, a public works/transportation repeater on 453.5125 [d023], and the Fire/Rescue repeater on 460.525 [d263].

The regional jail has also apparently changed its PL tone on 39.82 from 127.3 to 110.9.

Great. That exaplins why I thought I heard units calling both Farmville and Prince Edward. Was it the same dispatcher that answered both names?

I was picking the F/R channel up enough to hear them calling Farmville yesterday. I determined who that was mostly PL. Both come in with a lot of static for me.

I'm thinking of ordering a Scantenna this afternoon for the attic to replace mt $19.95 radio shack special that seems to be be fine tuned for VHF High despite it beiing all bands. Perhaps, that will improve my UHF reception.

I couldn't decide whether Farmvile and Prince Edward were the same voice, but it's a very strong possibility.

When I was last in the Farmville 911 center (5 years ago, maybe?), they were doing all of the comm's for the Town and the County. You'll notice that the fire department units (whether they're from the Town or County) refer to dispatch as "Farmville," I'm not sure why the deputies in the county wouldn't do the same.

I used to live in Farmville, and while PE Sheriff and Farmville Police share the same frequency, I believe they have different dispatchers.
