I would be interested in hearing from someone who is 20-30 miles north or south of the NY State Thruway along upstate NY. I am approx 25 air miles from the Thruway and I am not sure how far from the nearest tower/repeater whatever it is they have.
here is the issue:
Up until about a month ago(roughly), I could hear the Thruway St Police clearly on certain scanners, not so good on other scanners, and not at all on a few. I seem to be right on the fringe, but it was certainly strong enough on specific scanners.
And now....nothing. I cannot hear a thing.
Does anyone know if they've made some changes? Obviously they only care about the signal along the Thruway, so I was thinking maybe they did something to maximize that coverage and it made reception north and south of it impossible.
I am NOT a technical genius, so if this doesnt make great sense, I am sorry.
