I am hearing a Campus Police on 453.450 with a tone:156.7. Anyone have any idea who it might be?
I was wondering if it might be COPIAH-LINCOLN COMMUNITY COLLEGE since Lincoln county is the only agency I could find (except for MS ABC) that is licensed with that freq.

You know how you can confirm this right? If you live near the college, sit nearby to it and listen to the input freq of 458.45 and if you get a nice strong signal on the input when they transmit, you've got a hit! If you are hearing the inputs from a distance to the school you can try sitting near the college with the antenna OFF to confirm.

I will check it out today since that freq has NEVER been active....

Co Lin has access to Lincoln County radios.... But only has Hi and Lo Band radios.... It might be Lincoln County Schools.... The liscense is the LCSO's and is the same repeater tower as the Hi Band.....

I keep in touch with Co-Lin on a regular basis as thats my first alma mater. I sometimes drop by to work out with the Hap Ki Do club.

OK if you hear the following: Copiah Hall, Lincoln Hall, Lawrence Hall, Franklin Hall, Easley, BSU, then youll know for sure its dealing with Co-Lin. If its Co-Lin PD youll hear Co-Lin 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 as primary officers. Co-Lin 1, used to be Co-Lin 2, he is Wayne Roberts Jr., son of the former Chief. When I was at Co-Lin he was known as foot.... Long story.

It would be interesting to hear SO respond to that,.. you do hear BPD respond there daily for crossing assignments, at least once a week for BS calls.. and maybe every other week BFD to an alarm there.

OK after monitoring this one for several days and NO traffic at all... this iether has to be an unliscensed freq somewhere else in use iether near to Hattiesburg, or in Alabamma, or LA. I will do a FCC check to see who in any area near us uses it. I also got a close up look in the Co-Lin cruisers.... No UHF, just VHF Hi/Lo.

I did a FCC search for MS, LA and AL from 453.40 - 453.50 and came up with Tulane University Campus Police in New Orleans on 453.450. It might have been them. I did hear them for a few days, but didn't hear anything on the freq last night.

While doing the search in Mississippi, I came across a listing for the Mississippi DEQ:

WPQA378
Statewide temperary base
453.300
453.375
453.475
453.525
453.550

RADIOS WILL BE USED FOR FOR TRANSMISSION OF GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM

They are giving DEQ to the Feds to run. They are closing the MSU College of Vet Med.... And some more State Parks.. though they found moneys to keep the magority open... They almost closed ALL of them.
