Last Friday I heard a very long and steady tone on 453.900. Then radio repair did a 10 count and asked for an area trooper to respond. I missed the response if there was one. I check out the FCC site's information which shows the frequency with a site in Island Pond. It also showed Derby which is the location of the state police barracks and for dispatch center. Around 545 PM this afternoon a dispatcher was talking with what sounded like a VSP supervisor/sergeant. The audio was loud and clear. It was over a repeater as both parties could be heard. I wasn't able to capture a tone code. This is the first communication I've heard on 453.900 for several years.

With a little more listening time it appears 453.900 is usually simulcast with the primary dispatched 460.150 on the eastern side of the Derby area.

Unfortunately I'm able to receive it on the scanner. I'm listening a UHF base radio set up. I'll keep monitoring it.

hopefully doing a road trip in May/June to Ascutney and that might help out with much of the changing VT RF spectrum
