It's for a trunked license, too. Evidently the taxi service that you're hearing is under this license. :?: I know this didn't answer your question but maybe it gave some clues.
I've seen the license, but I don't beleive JSM is using this frequency for trunking. I don't hear any data bursts and a subaudible tone of 103.5 is being used. The addresses I am hearing are in southern Calumet and southwest Manitowoc counties. Primarily Kiel, New Holstein and Chilton.
Yeah, you're right. It would have been obvious if it had been trunked.
I even went and dusted off my 1994 Police Call and my Beyond Police Call 1st Edition and there is nothing listed near that area on that frequency. I'm stumped. :x
JSM's whole licensing procedure is far from the norm. Freq's on trunked licenses are not used in the system sometimes and one's not licensed to the system are...etc..etc.. This is the same company that tried to tell me monitoring a business LTR system was illegal.. ho-hum
Now imagine how many "not in the know" would worry about the legality and not monitor them.
And also imagine how many businesses they've told that to. Makes you wonder how many think they are magically secure.
And why would you need to be secure? If you're a taxi company, for example, would you be afraid someone else would show up to your customers and take the fare? Give me a break.
According to FCC records, JSM has a three frequency (451.5625, 452.1875, 464.7125) trunked system on a tower (owned by Badger Towers LLC) just south of Chilton.
I don't know if its legal or not, but I'll bet 461.9750 is broadcast from that tower.
