Can anyone confirm the hospital that's using 464.4250 [114.8] in the Virginia Beach area? I think they mentioned an "AT&T Building," but I couldn't use that information to figure out which hospital it is. (Virginia Beach General and Chesapeake General are both licensed for this frequency.)

Thanks,
Dave

I am pretty close to Chesapeake General and I have just camped out a scanner on that frequency.

I will let you know what I come up with.

The two hospitals are pretty far apart. Where are you hearing it?

I heard it from Oceana NAS, during the air show this past weekend. As I recall, the signal strength was not that great.

Thanks for parking a scanner on the freq.

I have heard nothing on the scanner so far and am guessing that Virginia Beach General is your source.

On a related note, Friday morning I am going to Virginia Beach General to get some blood drawn and will bring a handheld with me.

I could actually get the blood drawn at Chesapeake General, but my cardiologist's office is right across the street from VBGH and it is so handy to be able to walk over there if there is a paperwork snafu.

I can also look around for the AT&T building.

I heard them today (I screwed up Friday and had the wrong frequency programmed in).

That appears to be hospital security. They were talking about handling disruptive patients, a bicycle that was chained up outside for weeks, and issuing badges to contractors.

I call it as Virginia Beach General as the signal strengths dropped off pretty quickly when I got away from the place. Officially, it is Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.

There is an array of UHF folded dipoles on the roof, I got a quick look and I think it is eight elements. There is also a four element VHF folded dipole array and some things in radomes that could be anything.

If you want pictures, just tell me and I will take my camera when I go to my next doctor appointment.

use to be the same freq as Lynnhaven Mall.... They use to come over Loud & Clear on all the mall radios. I think that is why they changed freq.
