Received Halesite Fire Department on this frequency and DCS. Announced as Halesite and response was to a location in Huntington Bay which they cover. NOT LICENSED on this frequency that I can see. Any info?

Possibly not fire dept as they usually identify with their station designator, ie; 2-2-x. What did you hear? was it just an address or definately a fire dept related call?

Town of Smithtown has a license for that freq.

Smithtown was for former Public Safety now trunked and Halesite is in the Town of Huntington. Definite fire related with chiefs IDing as 30, 31, , etc. Very weak tx.

Maybe it's an unlicensed fireground freq if your not hearing 2 2 0, and just chiefs. If it was ops or dispatch, it would not be weak from 3.5 miles.

Halesite is licensed for 470.450:
HALESITE FIRE DISTRICTWRUQ617470.450000001100FB2PWHalesiteSUFFOLKNY

How did you determine what you are hearing is 470.4375 vs 470.450?

Thanks, Scanner read 470.4375, but somehow I missed this license.
Many scanners have poor 12.5 channel spacing selectivity and will stop on the the adjacent channel when in frequency search mode. Reception should be better when programmed for 470.450 if this in Halesite on their assigned frequency.

470.45 is pushing a decent amount of power. Program that in followed by 470.4375. When you hear 4500 active, advance to 4375 and see if it’s the same transmission.

Def an active repeater.

Not sure if they're going to use this as a primary or 460.525, but both repeaters are still active as of today.
