I stumbled across some interesting traffic on 4737.4 kHz this past Sunday afternoon. I heard 0301 calling 9701 Atlas to give them a heads up they did their AAV2 w/ Warship 69 and currently engaged w/ 0302 Warship 38. Later 0301 was talking to a station that identified as 120. They refer to this channel as Tac 4.

I also logged this frequency during the summer and heard phrases such as "Red Coast Guard" and "Red Territorial Waters". Both times monitored was during daylight hours so probably coming from the offshore SoCal area.

DEA has been known to use that freq

By the way this frequency is still active on a regular basis. The callsigns are vessels such as ATLS 9701 (drone launch ship), CAW-1 (Center for Asymmetric Warfare fast patrol craft) and SL-120 (likely the Swiss Ladder 120). There are others but I haven't had time to research, but they can be tracked on AIS ship tracking site MarineTraffic.com. They frequently operate offshore SoCal near San Clemente Island.

More activity this morning from Swiss Ladder Base, Caw-1 and other hard to identify station. Talked about live fire for tomorrow. Also gave reference to a channel called "fifty eighty", which is most likely 5080kHz for Plead Control. Could be interesting monitoring over the next 24 hours.

I can confirm that "fifty eighty" is indeed 5080kHz. Heard 0301 wkg SL 120 on that freq.
Both of them showing on AIS and appear to be headed to live fire area.

During local daytime here in California. They were operating in that general area, so that could very well be it.
