0150 UTC Weak/barely audible two way traffic being heard. Cant make out who it is or what they're saying. Maybe one of you up North will have better luck.

Can you please articulate why you're suggesting that 4739 comms are "probably MARS?"
MARS (Military Auxiliary Radio System) operates in that area. Very possibly a MARS net or traffic on that frequency. Also possible that military is using that channel.

Can you provide some specific MARS freqs that are in the vicinity of 4739kHz?

In the past I have logged ALE, USB aircraft coms, and Andrews doing test messages. I have heard of EAMs being sent here also, but never heard one for myself on this freq. I don't think I have ever logged MARS there though.

Exactly! It is & has been a DOD channel for many decades, with both tactical & strategic air/land/sea comms like a Navy task force surface/air warfare Link-11 voice coordination net, Post Attack Command & Control System, etc. & for the past several years it has been part of the SCOPE Command ALE Network. IMHO there's zero evidence to support the notion that it was ever a MARS freq.

It's great to try to be helpful, but if someone really doesn't have a clue about something, it'd help if they don't make some wild guess about what something "probably" is.
