Figure it out for yourself. Oh, wait, I bet you don't know how...
I
Not off the top of my head, given I don't listen to the system, don't live anywhere near it, and don't pay much attention to this thread. I'm a dumbarse yep.

And "much further north" is an exaggeration. Go 5 air miles north of the licensed S Amherst location and you are in the lake.

That's an interesting antenna in that picture. That isn't a business or public safety yagi. That's a pretty stout LPDA.

The antenna at that site is a left over from the old WMI Lorain stuff. HF marine. It's a log periodic that worked down to about 2 MHz.

Does anyone know if the goal is for all Lorain County agencies to transition to this system? I searched both threads related to this but did not get an exact answer. If so, do we have any idea of when? Thanks in advance.

I havn't seen anything official about Lorain PD and Fire going to the 5 City but they are definitely Patched to it...

The county has decided on MARCS, but there's nothing says anyone has to go there. At least a few dept's are refusing to leave VHF, mostly because the radios are vastly too expensive. Many can't handle $1000-1500 P25 VHF radios, let alone 800MHz radios. And what Harris and Moto are pushing can range from $6000 up to $15,000.

So this --- View attachment 164789 --- is patched to the 5 City with TGID 4700

Got it... Thanks...

Haven't seen this show up in the database yet. 4700 is definitely a patch from 154.37 that encompasses Sheffield Twp, Elyria Twp, Wakeman, Florence Twp, S. Amherst, and maybe others.
From listening, I don't know which, but at least one dept. out of that group is using it from the trunked system side, maybe more. My first guess would be Elyria Twp. has moved there.

Add'l: I can confirm Sheffield Twp. has moved to this system. One ID I caught was 4717937 for squad 137.
Also a 4716xxx came up quickly, I think that may have been and Elyria Twp unit.

Here is a new one... TGID 4025
Have no idea who/or what it was... All I heard was - Repeater is on generator power... Then several seconds later I heard Repeater is on normal power...

Oh, that was there? We're also listening to Vermilion PD, and I thought it was from there, since I know it's set up for that.
It had to be something patched in, since there's vastly better ways to do a power fail alert for a system like that.

I typically hear that on the Amherst fire dispatch analog frequency every few months or so.
