Hello --

Can anyone tell me if the PSR-500 and PSR-600 should work just fine on CQPSK systems or are adjustments to settings necessary to get good decoding?

Thanks!

They work out of the box with CQPSK. Better than the Pro96, but far from "fine"

Thank you, sir. Are there any settings that I can adjust to at least get to the level of "fine" or is this a CQPSK limitation? Anyone know if GRE is still working on improving CQPSK decoding?

Happy New Year, all!

Multiple towers are transmitting the same signal on the same frequency causing signal distortion. Some monitoring CQPSK system types have had good luck with a beam antenna pointed directly at a tower.

I agree that multiple towers transmitting on the same frequency with the same signal can cause signal distortion. Any specutlation on how the police and fire radios work better than a scanner? I know that a police radio costs a lot more than a scanner. A police radio must have some hardware or software to remove signal distortion.

Those radios are also tuned specifically for the frequencies that they transmit and receive on, and the antenna is specific to the bandwidth in use.

There are also many complaints from system users of *digital sounding* audio quality or dead zones even with simulcasting.
