Regardless of Display mode, on The 536 can not get The (site name) on the (display)
not a big deal, but it's nice for testing new sites.

The 436 can Displays (site names) on The Display, so I have to take it ( in my Big Rig) for testing.

and leave my 536 at home also...... The Home-patrol 2 can not display site names to.

Not exactly.

The layout of the 436 and 536 displays are a little different because the 436 is portrait format and the 536 is landscape format, but the data they display while scanning is identical, except for the battery voltage (436 only) and Wi-Fi status (536 only). During a transmission, the 536 displays the Department only and the 436 shows the Department in large characters and the Site in fine print underneath.

You can easily see what site is broadcasting a transmission by doing a Site Hold (Function, then Department) during the transmission or the Delay time after a transmission. That will pause the scanner on the site, and when the transmission is over, the scanner will display the site you're holding on.

However, I wouldn't recommend doing that sort of testing while driving. Set up the Wi-Fi on the 536 in Access Point Mode, and then use a netbook with ProScan to connect to the 536 via Wi-Fi, and you can log all kinds of data, including the site, the actual voice channel frequency, and all sorts of other trivia, and make high-quality recordings of the transmissions as well, all without even looking at the scanner.

This came up a while ago. The reason is much as jonwienke said. There is less horizontal screen real estate in the 536HP, so some information is not displayed. The display is not configured as I would have done it, but no one asked my opinion.

One of the things I like about the Siren App is that it does show site information. I also like the larger size and multi color display, but that's a different story.

If you can, use Siren when driving, for the display if nothing else. It makes a huge difference.

I use 3 Line Mode OFF and will see the site name on the fourth line down (with the "F" line being line #1). Unfortunately the site name is only present when the control channel is monitored. When there is a voice transmission, then that fourth line displays the Department Name of the active talkgroup.
