No, though it would be nice if it could until the Siren App is available.

If Uniden is counting on an App to replace a real remote head it is a very irresponsible decision.
Just about every amateur 2 meter/440 radio and commercial radio out there has a very simple detachable head. This isn't hard to accopmplish if thought about in the early design stages of a product. Why Uniden didn't think of this is stupid on their part. They knew from the 996 line of scanners there are many users that would need this for their application.
It's more likely they knew how few were ever sold and did not want to invest in the development costs.
Many/Most/all - take your pick of the Amateur radios use the existing face and remove it, this does increase the cost but is a sellable feature with a radio designed primarily for mobile use. These scanners just can't support that cost and a remote head that had to make a profit would probably be way too expensive to ever sell.
